What is PropTech?

PropTech—property technology—is the software, data, connected systems, and technology-enabled models used to change how real estate is designed, built, transacted, financed, operated, and experienced.

The short answer

PropTech is not one product category. It is a horizontal technology layer across the property lifecycle. The practical question is always the same: which real-estate decision or operating task changes, and what new dependency comes with it?

    Name the actor, current task, friction, proposed response, and handoff that changes.

  2. What must integrate?

    List source systems, destination systems, identifiers, protocols, owners, and support boundaries.

  3. Who controls the data?

  4. How will value be observed?
